JO STOCKS FRICS MAPM

Director

Jo was educated at  Rugby School and the South Bank University.  He qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1978 and is now a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.  He is also a Member of the Association for Project Management, a past Chairman of the Bureau of European Building Consultants and Experts and was the founding Chairman of the Association of Consultant Building Surveyors.

Jo commenced his career as a trainee building surveyor at the Greater London Council where he served in both the Department for Property Modernisation and Rehabilitation and the Inner-London District Surveyors Service.  In 1978 he joined Watts & Partners (now Watts Group Ltd.) where he was initially involved in a wide range of building surveying activities in both the private and public sector property and construction markets.  He became an Associate in 1980 and a Partner in 1985.


In 1990, Jo took charge of Watts & Partners' expansion across the UK, building a network of regional offices.  In 1993 he was appointed head of Commercial Building Surveying in central London and in 1999 he opened the firm's first City of London office.  Jo was elected to Managing Partner in 2003 and, following the firm's incorporation in 2007, he became Chief Executive.

In 2010, Jo left Watts Group and established Dacre Property Consultants.

Jo has served on a number of RICS and industry panels and working parties.  He has spoken at industry conferences on a variety of subjects and was a regular columnist in Property Week for over five years.
