DEFECTS ANALYSIS

This service involves the investigation of specific defects in buildings in order to identify cause, effect and the appropriate remedial action to be taken. Typical situations include problems associated with water penetration through roofs and external cladding, structural distress, settlement and subsidence, and material and component failures.

In many cases, intrusive investigation techniques, involving the opening-up of the existing structure and fabric will be required in order to properly identify the cause and extent of a particular defect. Similarly, laboratory testing of sample materials (concrete, glass, etc) may be necessary.
